A little bit of experimentation on this beat. Besides the funky wonky beat spiced with live hihat and ride samples, I tried incorporating parallel compression, it seems to fill out the soundspace nicely. Thanks to BOP.FM for the production tips, thanks to Brian for the request and link-up!
